SUMMARY
I was born in Ulukışla (Niğde). I graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 1970. I started as an assistant in 1971 at the Department of Zootechnics of the same faculty. In 1974, I worked as a research assistant for one year at the Institute of Physiology of the Faculty of Agriculture of the Technical University of Munich. In the meantime, I became a doctor in 1976 and an associate professor in 1982 in the Department of Reproduction and Artificial İnsemination established at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Ankara University. I was appointed an associate professor in 1982 and a professor in 1988 in the Department of Obstetrics and Reproductive Diseases of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Uludag University. In this faculty, I have held the positions Department Heads, Assistant Dean and Dean. I gave lectures at the Veterinary Faculties of Giessen and Munich in the Federal Germany as a visiting professor for one month in 1991 and 1995. I took associate degree, undergraduate and graduate courses at the Veterinary Faculties of Uludag, Selcuk, Ankara and Fırat universities in Turkey, the Faculty of Open Education of Eskisehir Anatolian University and the Faculty of Agriculture of Uludag University. In 2000, I attended the “ Dairy Herd Management “ Course at the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Wisconsin, United States. In the meantime, I was president of the Association of Veterinarians and the Bursa Chamber of Veterinarians. I served as the secretary general of the regulatory board at three national animal husbandry congresses in Ankara. I worked on numerous commissions in the State Planning Organization and the Ministry of Agriculture. After retirement Bio-Pharm Ltd.Şti.I am a consulting, founder and partner of Gökçen Veterinary and Techno-Vet.Ltd.Şti. I served as Company Director and General Manager of their firm. I have 14 books on professional and social issues, and numerous articles published in various newspapers and magazines.
